With the naked eye, no. It takes expensive equipment and specialized training to tell the difference between the two. However, any lab grown diamond sold by US Diamond Outlet will have a laser inscription on the girdle that states it's a lab grown stone. It will have the lab grading report number along with either "lab grown" or "LG".

Both lab grown diamonds and natural diamonds are made of pure carbon crystals and have the same hardness and durability. The properties of lab grown diamonds - including cut, color, clarity, and color - are measured and graded the exact same way as mined diamonds.

How are lab grown diamonds made (HPHT vs. CVD)?

US Diamond Outlet Lab grown diamonds are made one of two ways— either through High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT), or through Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).
